How Leaders Could Protect Their Own Hearts

Glynn Harrison - How Leaders Could Protect Their Own Hearts Glynn Harrison - How Leaders Could Protect Their Own Hearts

A dangerous mission: How Christian leaders protect their own hearts is the same as they would protect the hearts of their followers.

In this workshop we will look at some dangerous aspects that may appear in the heart of an inexperienced leader. Often, leaders are so concerned about the external circumstances, the implementation of new methods in their ministry and team development, that they forget to look inside their soul to discover the dangerous mechanisms and habits that are rooted in their own hearts. We'll talk about the characteristics of such misconceptions, which often occur in modern Christian leaders' environment: hyperactivity and perfectionism, codependency and over-anxiety about the position. We will also take a look at areas where leaders often misuse their positions, and talk about emotional burnout. But the main question we will try to answer: How to keep our hearts from these, and other dangers in the way of our ministry?
